Local Food Accolade For Second Year Running Story date: 16th October 2009 In a county that is blessed with an abundance of high quality dining pubs, we are delighted to announce our success at this years 'Suffolk Food and Drink Awards',where we picked up Suffolk's 'Best Food Pub' for the second year running.
Organised by the counties leading life style magazine 'Suffolk', the 2009 awards took place on October 1st at Ickworth House, a fitting National Trust property not far from Bury St. Edmonds.
The three finalists from each of the ten catergories along with event's various sponsors enjoyed a celebration luncheon before local celebrities, Mark David and Lesley Dolphin conducted the awards ceremeny.
Winning for the first time was very pleasing, after all it was our first food award, but winning the second was no different, with no restaurant or pub having ever won their catergorie twice before.
Big credit must go to all the staff, it was very much a team effort, with head chef Michael McMullan only in his position for six weeks.
A big thank you to all our customers who voted for us, it was your votes that saw us through to the final three, enabling the food judges to descend upon us back in September.
